Anti aging cream : The big scam (2)

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

You should look out for antioxidants, Hyaluronic acid, Hydroxyl acids and collagen stimulants like Peptides and Retinol. However, while anti-aging cream labels may tout the presence of any or all of these ingredients, they likely won’t tell you how much of each ingredient is inside. The concentration of active ingredients makes a huge difference in efficacy. Most have too little of the ingredients (if at all), to make any meaningful impact.

Why Anti Aging Creams Don’t Work.

The label promises are filled with words that sound complex and technical. Never mind, when they are put in simple language, even the most expensive offers no more than moisturizing and exfoliating effects.

They may claim of being medically tested or proven. You should know that anything you can buy without a doctor’s note live in a regulatory “gray” area, evaluated for safety, not effectiveness. Their claims would have to be carefully worded to remain on the cosmetic side.

So, whether moisturizers cost $500 or $10, they temporary give a plump to the skin. Only your purse cries. Moreover, the shell life of most active ingredients is very short, because the potency of natural ingredients decreases very rapidly even when chemical additives and stabilizers are used to prolong the shelf life. Making them really lame by the time you shell out those dollar bills to get just another miracle anti aging cream.

A Viable Alternative

Now, pay attention here, because I’m going to share with you, something extremely important. Knowing all this, as an aging care enthusiast and a professional researcher, i was way in over my head. Until I came across a review on the popular satellite channel FOX news, about a radical solution to the anti aging skin care debacle, in the form of natural home made recipes, described in an eBook titled “Naturally Skinsational” , authored by Sue Dolan (M.Ed.).

She was acclaimed to be an expert author on aging skin concerns. Seeing her on screen, she seemed really good-looking, for a woman in her 50s (sort of practice what you preach, hmm) . I became curious. Anyways, I got her book. And I must confess, it was a kind of breakthrough.

It’s All Around Us!

Her book was charming and delightful to read .What I find most useful are the quick and easy skin care recipes with proven natural anti- aging attributes. AND IT WORKS. There are countless common herbs, flowers, fruits, and other natural ingredients that are full of proven vitamins, minerals and nutrients, with powerful rejuvenating properties, that benefits and successfully treat aging skin concerns. I am happier using fresh natural ingredients, at the peak of their potency.

The ingredients are easy to get, and the recipes are a breeze to make. You don’t even have to know how to cook, or require any special skill. Naturally Skinsational recipe eBook provides a wonderful and effective alternative to flawed commercial facial rejuvenation products for both women and men.

Anti aging creams: the big scam

Have you ever wondered, after going through the endless selection of skin care products on store shelves, if they will actually work at all to replenish your skin, and do as they promise? Well, the sad fact is that the anti- aging cream industry is full of products that don’t do what they claim.

The reality

If you are like me, I bet you are sick of over- hyped anti aging creams, which fall short on delivery. Ironically, the most expensive ones are often the most ineffective. Quite frankly, most anti aging creams are glorified moisturizers. They fill in fine lines and wrinkles, giving a temporary plump feel to the skin without enduring changes. The mirage is blown off when you wash them off and check after a while. Below is the caption on the review page of Jen Hopkins, a skin care product reviewer.

Best Anti Aging Wrinkle Cream Review

1000’s Of Anti-Wrinkle Creams. Most of them don’t work, so I review them. I’ve Tested Dozens Of Anti-Aging Wrinkle Creams.
The Fact is — MOST DON’T WORK.

The modern anti aging cream industry

The modern anti aging cream industry is reaping us all off! Where did it all go wrong? Greed, I guess. Let’s face it; people will understandably spend any amount of money to look better, or younger. Cosmetic surgery is a multi-billion dollar industry, and so is the topical skincare industry. And it continues to find hundreds of new customers’ everyday.

A lot of these products are rushed to the market to meet this demand -without proper consideration to research and development. Huge amounts of money go into adverts and marketing of the product. The result is a high priced product with little and sometimes negative delivery.

The tragedy

The unfortunate thing is that, the manufacturers of these ‘miracle’ anti aging creams will not have a shortage of people who virtually beg to buy their product, ready to splash their cash for a product that might even be harmful for their skin. There are few things as tragic as paying for the accelerated aging of your skin

The worrying fact is that many contain skin ‘poison’ which you should avoid, if you don’t want to get that nasty rash or irritation that can be stubborn to treat. Some can even leave near permanent scar on the skin.

What you should avoid

Substances like parabens, mineral oil, dioxane, fragrance and alcohol cause side effects that can only accelerate the aging process. Unfortunately, these “ingredients” are quite common to many anti aging skin care product.

Fragrance: Your skin care products should not contain fragrances. Many fragrances are produced from ingredients that are known to be toxic or carcinogenic. If you want to smell nice (and I suppose you really do), use a perfume or the like. That way, the aromatic ingredients have minimal contact with your skin

Dioxane: It often contains high concentrations of 1, 4-dioxane, which is readily absorbed through the skin. 1, 4-dioxane is considered a chemical “known to the State of California to cause cancer”.

Mineral oil: may also go by the names liquid paraffin, paraffin wax, and petrolatum on the product label. Once applied, it prevents the skin from “breathing”. As such, it clogs pores, interferes with your skin’s natural ability to eliminate toxins, and can lead to acne flare ups

Alcohol: ethanol, ethyl alcohol, methanol, benzyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol and SD alcohol.  Commonly found in skin care products, are very drying and irritating for the skin. Alcohols such as these shred away the skin’s natural acid function, making you more vulnerable to skin diseases.

We will look at our options in the next article. Regards!
